Production process


Raw material preparation:

Select high-grade silica and high-quality carbonaceous reducing agent (such as petroleum coke, charcoal, etc.) as the main raw materials to ensure that the purity and particle size of the raw materials meet the production requirements.


Electric furnace smelting:

Add the raw materials into the electric furnace in a certain proportion and smelt them at high temperature. By precisely controlling the temperature, current, voltage and other parameters of the electric furnace, the silica and the carbonaceous reducing agent undergo a reduction reaction to generate metallic silicon.


Refining and purification:

The smelted metallic silicon may contain some impurities and needs to be refined. Common refining methods include air blowing refining, flux refining, etc. These methods further remove impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium in metallic silicon, improve the purity of metallic silicon, and make it meet the requirements of the 3303 grade.


Casting:

After the refined silicon metal liquid reaches the specified temperature and composition, it is poured into a specific mold for casting and molding to make the required block or granular metallic silicon 3303 products.
