Medium carbon ferrosilicon is a type of ferrosilicon alloy with a high silicon content and a relatively high carbon content. It is usually used in the steel smelting and casting industries. It is usually produced by blast furnace smelting or electric arc furnace smelting processes and is mainly used for alloying and deoxidation in steel.
The main components of medium carbon ferrosilicon include silicon (Si) and carbon (C), of which the silicon content is 60%~75% (common specifications are FeSi 65, FeSi 70), and the carbon content is 1%~3%. Impurities usually include sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), etc., with low content, which is usually controlled within the required range in steel production.
