Silicon Calcium Alloy Cored Wire (commonly known as CaSi cored wire) is a mainstream precision metallurgical auxiliary material widely used in steelmaking and foundry industries.
This product adopts a composite structure: 0.2–0.4mm thick low-carbon steel strip as the outer sheath, filled with high-purity calcium silicon alloy powder inside. By using automatic wire feeding systems, the cored wire is delivered deep into molten metal. The steel sheath melts at high temperature to release active Ca and Si elements, realizing integrated deoxidation, desulfurization and inclusion modification. Compared with bulk calcium silicon, it features lower element burn loss, higher recovery rate and more stable metallurgical effects. We supply CaSi series, Si-Ba-Ca, Fe-Ti and other composite cored wires to meet diversified production demands for high-quality steel and high-grade cast iron.

Production Technology & Process Flow
We adopt fully automated production lines with full-process quality monitoring to ensure product stability:
Raw Material Preparation: Crush and screen calcium silicon alloy into powder with good fluidity; select defect-free low-carbon steel strips with uniform thickness.
Filling & Forming: Evenly fill alloy powder into unfolded steel strips, then roll and seal tightly to prevent powder leakage.
Winding & Shaping: Wind finished cored wire into standard coils according to fixed length.
Anti-moisture Packaging: Use plastic-covered steel cages for packaging to avoid moisture during transportation and storage.

Application fields
Steelmaking industry
In the steelmaking process, ca si wire is mainly used for deoxidation, desulfurization and adjustment of steel composition. In the late stage of converter steelmaking or refining process, by feeding si ca alloy cored wire, the oxygen content and sulfur content in the steel can be effectively reduced, and the purity and quality of the steel can be improved. For the production of high-quality steel grades such as high-strength alloy steel, stainless steel, and low-carbon steel, silicon-calcium alloy cored wire is an indispensable deoxidizer and alloying agent.
Foundry industry
In the casting process, si ca alloy cored wire can be used as an inoculant and spheroidizer. In cast iron production, feeding silicon-calcium alloy cored wire into the molten iron can promote graphitization, reduce the tendency of white cast iron, refine graphite grains, and improve the mechanical properties and processing properties of castings. In the production of ductile iron, it can be used in combination with other spheroidizing agents to improve the spheroidizing effect and the quality of ductile iron.

FAQ
Q1: Can damp calcium silicon cored wire be used? What are the risks?
A: It is not recommended. Calcium reacts violently with water to generate hydrogen, which will cause hydrogen embrittlement, white spots and other fatal defects in molten steel/cast iron. Please store products in a dry environment with humidity below 60%.
Q2: How to choose between Ca31Si60 and Ca28Si60?
A: Ca31Si60 (high calcium grade) is for pipeline steel, bearing steel and other products requiring deep inclusion modification. Ca28Si60 (standard grade) is cost-effective for ordinary carbon steel and alloy steel.
