Product Introduction

CaSi Cored Wire is a type of coated composite wire formed by uniformly wrapping a certain proportion of calcium silicon alloy powder (mainly composed of silicon and calcium) within a low-carbon steel strip and then precision rolling it.

It is an indispensable core wire feeding material in the secondary refining process. Compared to the traditional method of directly adding alloy blocks, using calcium silicon alloy cored wire allows the alloy to be directly delivered to the depths of the molten steel, preventing the alloy from being oxidized and burned off on the surface. This achieves efficient, stable, and precise metallurgical results, making it a standard configuration for modern high-quality steel smelting.

Core Advantages of CaSi Wire (vs. Lumps/Powders)

Calcium Silicon Alloy Wire outperforms traditional calcium silicon forms in key metrics, directly addressing industrial pain points:

Performance Metric Calcium Silicon Alloy Wire Calcium Silicon Lumps Calcium Silicon Powder
Utilization Rate 90–95% 70–75% 65–70%
Dust Loss ≤5% 10–15% 20–25%
Dosing Precision ±1% ±8% ±5%
Reaction Uniformity Excellent (full dispersion) Poor (localized reaction) Moderate (prone to agglomeration)
Environmental Impact Low (minimal dust) Medium High (dust pollution)

Why Choose Wire Feeded Calcium Silicon Alloy?

1. Deep Purification, Improved Steel Quality

Calcium is a strong deoxidizing and desulfurizing element. The cored wire feeds the sica alloy directly into the depths of the molten steel. The calcium vapor creates a strong stirring and "gas washing" effect, efficiently removing gases and inclusions from the steel. More importantly, it transforms high-melting-point alumina (Al₂O₃) inclusions into low-melting-point liquid calcium aluminate, effectively preventing nozzle clogging during continuous casting and significantly improving the fatigue performance and surface quality of the steel.

2. High Yield, Reduced Production Costs

With traditional alloying methods, the alloy is easily oxidized upon contact with the molten steel surface, resulting in low and fluctuating yields. Using wire-feeding technology, the alloy melts deep within the molten steel, and the calcium yield can be stably increased from less than 5% to 15-25%. This means achieving the same metallurgical effect with less alloy, thus effectively controlling your production costs.

3. Precise Control and Strong Process Stability

With an automated wire feeder, we can precisely control the total amount of alloy added to the molten steel (accurate to the meter). This avoids the arbitrariness of manual addition, ensuring minimal fluctuations in the composition of each heat of steel, making it particularly suitable for producing high-end steel grades with extremely stringent requirements for compositional parameters.

4. Improved Environment and Enhanced Operational Safety

The entire process takes place within a closed ladle, avoiding the intense sparks and smoke generated during alloy addition, greatly improving the workshop working environment. Simultaneously, automated wire feeding eliminates the safety risks of workers coming into close contact with high-temperature molten steel.
