Ferro silicon calcium cored wire is a composite metallurgical material made by crushing deoxidizers, modifiers and alloy additives into specified size, then wrapped with cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip. It is widely used in converter & electric furnace steelmaking, secondary refining and continuous casting to purify molten steel, modify inclusions, improve castability and mechanical properties, significantly increase alloy yield and reduce steelmaking costs.

Carbon steel, alloy steel, and special steel smelting:

It is widely used in converter, electric furnace, and induction furnace steelmaking processes. By adding it through wire feeding, it effectively removes oxygen and harmful impurities (such as sulfur, phosphorus) in molten steel, reduces the formation of oxide inclusions, and improves the purity of steel. For alloy steel and special steel (such as high-strength steel, wear-resistant steel, and stainless steel), it can stabilize the chemical composition of the steel, ensure the uniformity of alloy elements, and enhance the mechanical properties of the finished steel, such as tensile strength, toughness, and corrosion resistance.


Continuous casting and secondary refining:

In the continuous casting process, the use of ferro silicon calcium cored wire can improve the fluidity of molten steel, prevent nozzle clogging caused by inclusions, ensure the smooth progress of continuous casting, and reduce casting defects such as cracks, inclusions, and shrinkage holes in cast billets. In secondary refining (such as LF furnace, VD furnace refining), it can further modify the shape and nature of inclusions, convert large, brittle inclusions into small, spherical, and harmless inclusions, thereby improving the castability and processing performance of molten steel.


Nodular cast iron and ductile iron production:

In the production of nodular cast iron and ductile iron, ferro silicon calcium cored wire acts as a nodulizer and inoculant auxiliary. It can promote the formation of graphite nodules, improve the nodulization rate and uniformity, reduce the generation of white mouth and shrinkage defects, and enhance the toughness, strength, and wear resistance of cast iron parts.
