Ferro silicon nitride is a mixture of Si3N4 as the main component, free iron, unnitrided ferrosilicon and a small amount of other components. Ferro silicon nitride for refractory materials is a grayish white (or brownish) powder, and ferro silicon nitride for ironmaking is a grayish white granular material.

Powdered ferrosilicon nitride (Si3N4 Powder) is mainly used in the plugging mud of large blast furnaces, and a small amount is used in iron trench materials or other amorphous refractory materials.

Granular ferrosilicon nitride is mainly used for oriented silicon steel or other steel grades that use nitrides to increase strength (such as HRB400 steel bars).
