Silicon carbide (SiC) is a hard, high temperature resistant, chemically stable material commonly used in a variety of industrial applications. Its main advantages include high hardness, high thermal conductivity, high electrical conductivity, and excellent wear and corrosion resistance. Depending on its crystal structure and size, silicon carbide can be used in different application scenarios.

Product Uses

① Precision Abrasive Industry

0-1mm SiC is core raw material for resin bonded grinding stones, coated abrasive cloth and blasting media. Uniform particle size delivers consistent cutting force, low workpiece surface scratch, suitable for cast iron, glass, stone surface deburring and matte finishing.

② High-temperature Refractory Castables

Mixed with aluminate cement as aggregate for steel ladle, iron runner castables. It improves thermal shock resistance and anti-slag scouring ability, extend furnace service life by 2~3 times.

③ Advanced Structural Ceramics

Sinter into wear-resistant nozzles, mechanical seals, pump impellers. The 0-1mm powder ensures dense green body, reduces ceramic cracking during firing.

④ Steel & Foundry Metallurgy

Used as low-cost deoxidizer and carburizer in electric furnace steelmaking. Added to molten iron to refine graphite grains, reduce white cast tendency for gray iron castings.

⑤ Chemical Catalyst Carrier

High thermal stability and large specific surface area make it ideal carrier for high-temperature industrial catalysts, resistant to acid-base corrosion.
