Black Silicon Carbide SiC98 is high-purity black carborundum material . It is synthesized via 2200℃ resistance furnace smelting of high-purity quartz sand and low-impurity petroleum coke.
Its main silicon carbide mass fraction reaches ≥98%, with ultra-limited free carbon, iron oxide and alumina impurities. Compared with medium/low-grade SiC90 and SiC97, SiC98 features higher thermal shock resistance, fewer surface scratches during polishing and better chemical inertness.
