Products Main uses

Steel Industry

 Deoxidizer:

Silicon slag 50 can be used as a deoxidizer during the steelmaking process. Silicon has a strong affinity for oxygen and reacts with oxygen in molten steel to form oxides such as silicon dioxide (SiO₂), thereby removing oxygen from the steel and improving its quality and properties. Compared to other deoxidizers, Silicon slag 50 is less expensive and can effectively reduce steelmaking costs.

 Raising Furnace Temperature:

Adding Silicon slag 50 can raise furnace temperatures, providing a stable high-temperature environment for smelting materials, ensuring a more complete and thorough melting process and improving steel quality.

 Partial Ferrosilicon Replacement:

To a certain extent, Silicon slag 50 can be used as a substitute for ferrosilicon in steelmaking, meeting production needs while reducing production costs.

Foundry Industry:

Adding Silicon slag 50 to the casting process effectively removes slag, improves the toughness and machinability of castings, and enhances casting quality.

Other Ferroalloy Production:

Silicon slag 50 can be used in the purification process of other ferroalloy products, effectively increasing the silicon purity in these products and thus improving product quality.

Silicon Pellet Production:

Silicon slag 50 is processed into silicon pellets (silicon agglomerates). These pellets are in wide demand both domestically and internationally and can be used in industries such as steelmaking and foundry. Their agglomerate form offers advantages such as ease of melting and low dust generation during use.

The difference between silicon slag 50 and ferrosilicon in application fields

Comparison dimension Ferrosilicon Silicon slag 50
Application scenarios High-quality steel deoxidation, precision casting, high-end alloy production Low-end smelting, low-cost filling, recycling and reuse
Performance requirements High requirements for purity and stability, and the reaction efficiency must be guaranteed Low requirements for purity, with cost reduction as the core goal
Quality impact Directly determines the performance of the end product (steel, castings) Only as an auxiliary material, excessive use is prone to introduce impurity defects
Economic positioning Main raw material, high cost ratio, performance priority By-product/substitute, low cost, cost performance priority

In summary, ferrosilicon is the "core raw material" in the metallurgical industry, used in high-end and precision production links; while silicon slag 50 is a "low-cost substitute", mainly used in scenarios with lower quality requirements or resource recycling, and the two cannot completely replace each other.
