Ferroalloy is an important alloy material and is widely used in industrial production. The production processes of ferroalloys are generally divided into two categories: smelting methods and electrochemical methods. Among them, the smelting method produces a larger amount of ferroalloys and is more economical.

The ferroalloy smelting technology is mature and the process flow is relatively fixed, which is mainly divided into four aspects: raw material preparation, smelting process, alloy composition adjustment and product processing.
ferroalloy smelting process
Raw material preparation
The main raw materials of ferroalloys are ores and metal materials, including kaolin, montmorillonite, iron ore, etc. These raw materials need to be crushed, screened, mixed and other processes to ensure the uniformity and fluidity of the raw materials.
In addition, ferroalloy smelting also requires the addition of auxiliary materials such as fluxes and reducing agents to the raw materials to increase the melting point, improve fluidity and enhance the reduction effect. The selection and addition amount of these auxiliary materials should be adjusted according to the specific situation.
01
Smelting process
The smelting process of ferroalloy smelting is the most critical link. At present, there are mainly various smelting methods such as blast furnace smelting and electric furnace smelting. Among them, blast furnace smelting is the most common method.
In blast furnace smelting, the raw materials are pretreated and then placed in the furnace to undergo chemical reactions such as reduction and deoxidation to form iron alloys. In this process, factors such as smelting temperature, atmosphere, time, quality, etc. need to be strictly controlled to ensure the quality and output of ferroalloy.
02
Adjust alloy composition
The smelted iron alloy often requires further composition adjustment. In this process, the carbon content, silicon content, manganese content and other alloying element contents can be controlled in the ferroalloy by adding other elements, raising the temperature, etc. to meet the application needs in different fields.
03
Product handling
After ferroalloy smelting is completed, the products still need to be processed and processed to meet market demand. Generally speaking, ferroalloys need to undergo crushing, screening, storage and other processes to ensure product quality while improving production efficiency.
