Product Introduction

Ferrosilicon 75 (FeSi75) is a binary alloy composed of silicon and iron, with a silicon content of approximately 75%. It is one of the most widely used alloying additives in the steel and foundry industries. It is primarily produced by high-temperature smelting of silica and iron ore in an electric arc furnace. Core Characteristics and Advantages

Superior Deoxidation Capacity

Silicon is a strong deoxidizing element. The high silicon content (up to 75%) in ferrosilicon75 allows it to rapidly react with oxygen in molten steel, forming stable compounds (SiO₂) that are easily floated and removed. This process efficiently reduces the oxygen content in molten steel, significantly reducing porosity and inclusions, and greatly improving the purity and density of the billet. Compared to ferrosilicon with low silicon content, it has higher deoxidation efficiency and requires less silicon addition.

Significant Alloying Effect

During deoxidation, some silicon dissolves in the steel matrix, playing an alloying role. It effectively improves the strength, hardness, and elastic limit of steel. Fesi 75 is an indispensable alloying element, especially for the production of high-strength low-alloy steel, spring steel, wear-resistant steel, and silicon steel. Furthermore, it improves the magnetic permeability and corrosion resistance of steel.

Stable Physical Properties and Process Compatibility

High Melting Point and Good Flowability:

Its melting point range (approximately 1300-1400℃) is close to that of molten steel, allowing it to dissolve quickly and uniformly in molten steel. The reaction is stable and controllable, avoiding safety issues such as steel splashing caused by violent boiling.

Diverse Size Options:

We offer a variety of specifications from fine powder to different block sizes, perfectly adapting to the addition methods and dissolution rate requirements of different processes such as converters, electric furnaces, ladle refining furnaces, and casting inoculation treatments. No additional crushing is required from customers, reducing losses and processing costs.

Excellent Cost-Effectiveness

Compared to ferrosilicon with higher silicon content (such as ferrosilicon 90), fesi 75% offers the same excellent deoxidation and alloying properties while boasting a more competitive market price. It is the ideal choice to help customers effectively control production costs and maximize value while ensuring the quality of high-end steel.

Ferrosilicon alloys 75 Uses

Iron and Steel Metallurgy (Core Applications)

Deoxidizers:

Covering the deoxidation process in the smelting of almost all steel grades.

Alloying Element Additives:

Used in the production of spring steel (such as 60Si2Mn), tool steel, bearing steel, high-strength structural steel, etc., and are key to improving the comprehensive mechanical properties of steel.

Silicon Steel Production:

As the core silicon source for electrical silicon steel, its purity directly affects the electromagnetic properties of silicon steel.

Foundry Industry

Inoculants and Spheroidizing Agents:

In cast iron production, ferrosilicon75 is a commonly used inoculant, which can effectively promote graphitization, refine eutectic clusters, and improve the mechanical and processing properties of gray cast iron and ductile iron. It is also an important raw material for making spheroidizing agents (such as ferrosilicon-magnesium alloys).

Other Industrial Applications

Ferroalloy Production:

Used as a reducing agent or alloying component in the production of other special alloys (such as silicon-manganese alloys, silicon-chromium alloys).

Mineral Processing and Heavy Media:

High-purity ferrosilicon powder can be used as a heavy media material in suspension mineral processing.

Chemicals and Electronics:

As a basic raw material, it is used to produce silicides, silicone resins, and certain components in the electronics industry.
