It is mainly used as a master alloy for the production of medium, low and micro carbon ferro by electro silicon thermal method. Used as deoxidizer (replacing ferrosilicon) and chromium additive in steelmaking. Generally, it contains Cr>30%, Si>35%, and the balance is iron and a small amount of impurities. Classified according to carbon content, such as carbon content ≤0.06%, ≤0.10%, etc.

Production Process

ferro silicon chrome alloy is an alloy obtained by melting high-purity silicon and metallic chromium through an electric arc furnace.

The main process is

Add metal silicon and chromium to the electric arc furnace;

Connect the power supply and heat to the melting point;

Add a graphite tank to absorb impurities and oxides;

After the smelting time reaches the required time, the steel is tapped and made into alloy blocks;

Carry out water quenching or air quenching treatment.
