Silicon chromium alloy is an ferro alloy mainly composed of silicon, chromium and iron. Also known as ferro silicon chromium alloy. It is mainly used as a master alloy for the production of medium, low and micro carbon iron by electrosilicothermal method. Used as deoxidizer (replacing ferrosilicon) and chromium additive in steelmaking. Generally, it contains Cr>30%, Si>35%, and the balance is iron and a small amount of impurities. Classified according to carbon content, such as carbon content ≤0.06%, ≤0.10%, ≤1.0%, etc.

Main ingredients
Silicon (Si): Silicon is the main component of CrSi alloy, accounting for 40% of the alloy. The addition of silicon can significantly improve the hardness and wear resistance of the alloy.
Chromium (Cr): Chromium is another major component, accounting for 30% of the alloy. Chromium is added mainly to improve the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of the alloy.
The main purpose
Microalloying: Silicon chromium alloy can be added to steel for microalloying, so that the steel contains stable silicon and chromium elements, thereby improving the mechanical properties, wear resistance and oxidation resistance of the steel.
Stainless steel manufacturing: Silicon chromium alloy is one of the important raw materials in stainless steel manufacturing.
It can improve the corrosion resistance, heat resistance and hardness of steel.
Alloy casting: Silicon chromium alloy can be used in the casting industry to manufacture high-performance alloys such as casting aerospace engine blades, rocket engine components, etc.
Steel smelting: Silicon chromium alloy can be added to the steel-making process to deoxidize and increase carbon, adjust the composition of steel, etc.
In short, silicon chromium alloys are widely used in metallurgy, alloy casting and other fields.
