There are several types of ferroalloy submersible furnaces

Ferroalloy submerged furnaces include Vongola furnaces, Nelson furnaces, Waldorf furnaces and Kalbi furnaces.

1

The Vongola furnace is a high-temperature furnace widely used in the production of ferroalloys. It is characterized by fast heating and low sintering cost, and can produce a large amount of ferroalloys in a short time. The principle of the Vongola furnace is to use graphite electrodes to decompose iron ore at high temperatures and crystallize it into iron alloy. The advantage of the Vongola furnace is high production efficiency, but due to the high requirements for graphite electrodes, the cost is also relatively high.

2

The Nelson furnace is a medium-temperature furnace suitable for the production of low-sulfur ferroalloys such as silicomanganese and ferromanganese. Its principle is to reduce ore into iron alloy by heating in the furnace, and at the same time generate a large amount of heat energy to heat other mineral substances. Compared with the Vongola furnace, the Nelson furnace has a longer heating time and lower production efficiency, but the cost is relatively lower.

3

The Walldorf furnace is a low-temperature furnace mainly used to produce alloys such as ferrovanadium and ferrotitanium. It is characterized by slow reaction speed and low heat conduction efficiency, but it can better control the melting state during the reaction process. The Walldorf furnace is also reversible and can carry out reduction and oxidation reactions simultaneously in the furnace, making it easy to adjust the production process.

4

The Kalbi furnace is a high-temperature furnace that uses a molten pool for reaction. It is mainly used to produce alloys such as ferrotungsten. Its characteristic is that it can carry out reduction reactions and melting processes under high temperature conditions, and can obtain high-purity metals in the furnace using the Kalbi oxidation method. Due to the need to add a large amount of reactants such as ammonium hydrogen oxalate and oxidants into the furnace, the cost of the Kalbi furnace is relatively high.
