Product Introduction

Ferro Silicon Magnesium (FeSiMg), also known as rare earth ferrosilicon magnesium alloy, is a core raw material specially customized for nodulizer and inoculant cored wire.

After professional smelting, crushing and precision screening, this product features uniform size, excellent fluidity and low oxidation rate. The 0.2-2mm particle range is the optimal choice for high-speed cored wire production: ultra-fine powder below 0.2mm will cause nozzle clogging and severe oxidation, while oversized particles over 2mm lead to uneven filling and wire breakage. This grade ensures stable production of cored wire and stable metallurgical performance in ductile iron production.

Main Product Size: 0.2-2mm (special for cored wire); Alternative sizes: 10~25mm, 15~25mm, 10~100mm.

Standard Packaging: Ton bag with anti-oxidation inner film + pallet loading; vacuum packaging for core powder to prevent oxidation. Custom sealed drums are available for export.

Storage Requirements: Store in dry, sealed and ventilated warehouse. Isolate from humid air, rain and corrosive gas. Seal the package after use to prevent surface oxidation of magnesium and rare earth elements.

Core Metallurgical Functions

Deep Deoxidation & Desulfurization

Silicon reacts preferentially with oxygen to remove oxide inclusions; magnesium and rare earth elements combine with sulfur to form stable sulfides, reducing sulfur content in molten iron and avoiding hot cracking defects.

Graphite Spheroidization

Magnesium is the core spheroidizing element, which transforms flake graphite into spherical graphite in ductile iron, greatly improving the toughness, ductility and fatigue resistance of castings. Rare earth elements assist spheroidization and extend the effective working time of the nodulizer.

Uniform Alloying Effect

Uniform particle distribution ensures synchronous release of various elements in molten iron, avoiding component segregation and stabilizing the overall performance of castings.

High Element Yield

Protected by steel strip and matched with optimal size, the burning loss of Mg and Re is reduced, and the comprehensive production cost of foundries is lowered.

FAQ

Q1: Why choose 0.2-2mm FeSiMg for cored wire?

A: This size balances fluidity and anti-oxidation performance. It avoids nozzle clogging of fine powder and wire breakage of coarse particles, and is the universal standard for high-speed cored wire production lines.

Q2: What is the difference between different QRMg grades?

A: Different content of Mg and rare earth (Re). High Re grades suit harsh molten iron conditions with high sulfur; high Mg grades focus on graphite spheroidization for high-toughness ductile iron.

Q3: What are the storage precautions for FeSiMg alloy?

A: Keep dry and sealed. Magnesium and rare earth elements are easy to oxidize when exposed to moisture and air, which will reduce product effectiveness.

Q4: Can you provide samples and what is the delivery time?

A: Free test samples are available. Standard in-stock goods are delivered within 7–15 working days; customized grades/sizes take 20–30 working days.
