Ferro Alloy Briquettes

Ferro Alloy Briquettes

Silicon Briquette are a kind of metallurgical material that needs to be added when making steel. By adding an appropriate amount of silicon Briquette , the content of non-metallic inclusions in the steel can be reduced, the distribution is appropriate, and the shape is appropriate, thereby ensuring that all properties of the steel can meet the standards and obtain Fine-grained structure. In fact, silicon Briquette can not only improve the quality of steel, but also improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and provide higher economic benefits for steel mills.

Product Introduction

If there is any cost-effective metallurgical material that can replace ferrosilicon, the veterans will tell you that of course it is silicon briquettes. As a new type of ferroalloy product, silicon briquettes are mainly used in steelmaking manufacturers.

The main components of ferro alloy briquettes are iron and silicon, and also contain a certain amount of carbon, manganese and other elements. These elements play an important role in improving the mechanical and chemical properties of steel. ferro alloy briquettes have good thermal and electrical conductivity, as well as excellent casting properties, and can be well combined with other metal materials such as cast iron and cast steel.

Application fields

Steel smelting industry

 Steelmaking deoxidizer:

In the steelmaking process, ferroalloy balls as deoxidizers can quickly remove oxygen from molten steel, prevent defects such as pores and inclusions in the steel during solidification, and improve the purity and quality of the steel. Different types of ferroalloy balls are suitable for different steelmaking processes and steel grade requirements. For example, ferrosilicon alloy balls are often used in converter steelmaking and electric furnace steelmaking, and ferromanganese alloy balls are more commonly used in open-hearth steelmaking.

 Alloying additives:

By adding ferroalloy balls, the content of alloying elements in molten steel can be accurately adjusted to give steel specific properties to meet the needs of steel in different fields. For example, when producing high-strength construction steel, silicon-manganese alloy balls are added to improve the strength and toughness of steel; when manufacturing stainless steel, ferrochromium alloy balls are added to give steel good corrosion resistance.

Improve the fluidity of molten steel:

Some ferroalloy balls (such as silicon-calcium alloy balls) can reduce the surface tension of molten steel, improve the fluidity of molten steel, facilitate the filling and molding of molten steel in the mold, reduce the defects of castings, and improve the quality and yield of castings.

Foundry industry

 Cast iron inoculant:

In cast iron production, ferroalloy balls can be used as inoculants to promote graphitization, increase graphite cores, and spheroidize or refine graphite, thereby improving the structure and performance of cast iron. For example, ferrosilicon alloy balls are often used in the inoculation treatment of gray cast iron and ductile iron, which can improve the strength, toughness and wear resistance of cast iron and reduce the scrap rate of castings.

 Adjusting cast iron composition:

According to the different grades and performance requirements of cast iron, the corresponding ferroalloy balls are added to adjust the content of alloy elements in cast iron, such as manganese-iron alloy balls can be used to improve the strength and hardness of cast iron, and chromium-iron alloy balls can enhance the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of cast iron.

Other industrial fields

 Non-ferrous metal smelting:

In the smelting process of some non-ferrous metals (such as aluminum, magnesium, etc.), ferroalloy balls can also be used as additives for deoxidation, impurity removal or adjustment of alloy composition. For example, in the production of aluminum alloys, adding a small amount of ferroalloy balls can refine the grains, improve the strength and hardness of aluminum alloys, and improve their casting and processing properties.

 Powder metallurgy:

After being crushed and screened, ferroalloy balls can be used as raw materials for powder metallurgy to manufacture various mechanical parts, tools, and electronic components. Through the powder metallurgy process, ferroalloy powder can be made into parts with complex shapes and high precision, improving material utilization and production efficiency.
